Archdiocese of Australia and NZ: Ss Peter and Paul Parish 2009 retreat

2009-10-03

Koolara Camp Site Nowra, Sydney Australia.

During the October long weekend (Friday 2nd to Monday 5th October), Rev. Genard Lazar, parish priest, along with over 50 members of the Ss. Peter and Paul’s Parish attended the annual parish retreat. Although the trip faced grey and wet weather, the faithful continued to engage in the spirit of fellowship, fun and socialising.

Upon arrival at the camp site, Rev. Genard officially welcomed all attendees encouraging them to experience the spiritual and social enjoyment offered through the various activities prepared by the organisers.

Attendees to the event took part in many of the indoor activities such as fancy dress competitions, board games and team orientated sports.

Bible studies lessons were conducted during the weekend where the team leaders directed the faithful in ‘parable plays’ re-enacting famous parables such as the Prodigal Son and the Good Samaritan.

On Sunday, morning prayers which commenced at 7:15am was attended by all followed by the offering of the Holy Mysteries (Raza Qadeesha) by Rev. Genard.

This annual event is held at various venues. Its goal is to provide a weekend of fun and activities to the church faithful and is also open to those who are wanting to gather and grow in Christ.

The Church prays that those in participation enjoyed the break leaving the retreat spiritually strengthened and encouraged to dedicate their talents to the Church of Christ.
